Windows NT - A preferred OS

I thought the days of Windows NT are over. Guess my surprise when I found that at least some of the ATMs in the UK are still running WinNT

I was caught off-guard by a machine which was doing its regular data copy / backup / transmit stuff and it made me wait for about 10 - 15 minutes to get some money.

PS : I am strongly expecting a comment from FunkiBluDawg who is more knowledgeable about the internals of an ATM :)

Right & Wrong

There is no difference between right and wrong. One person's right could very well be other person's wrong in this opportunistic world.

Think Apple and the image comes to mind of a nice ethical 'sheep' company whose 'windows like' OS was hijacked by Microsoft (picture them in red with a sharp tail and a trident in hand) who have always been accused of limiting the choices for the customers....

Fast forward to 2007. Apple has released a snazzy device called iPhone. It is available in Germany 'exclusively' for t-mobile customers, in the UK only for O2 customers and in the US only for AT&T customers. Moreover, apple is saying that if someone tries to unlock it to work with other network, the phone may render unusable with the future software updates.

So, which steve now has a sharp tail and a trident in hand? answers on a postcard to the usual address...
